EMPOWER ARTISANS - BUILD HOPE

The artisans are very skilful and talented people with the ability to turn a piece of raw material into a beautiful handmade craft. This takes a lot of patience, precision and time, which has been passed on from generation to generation.  However, many of these artisans live in remote areas and sometimes under very poor conditions. These communities face lack of resources in the form of information, financial assistance and market access thus leaving them helpless without their basic daily needs. Severity of the issue can be recognized from the fact that many arts are being perished as the artisan youth is not following their ancestors and learning their skills, just to find out some other occupation to meet their bread and butter. CC analysis points that they are still not better off and the youth is often lost in the middle of nowhere creating a social emergency situation.

These artisans are dependent on local traders and middle men who underpay the artisans, does not brand their products and exploit them by purchasing on credit. Despite their unique creations they lack basics amenities and poverty plays its role by letting their younger generations unskilled while the art becomes extinct.

Cultural Classics, sensing the problem and identifying the gap, started with an urge to introduce these products globally along with the knowledge of product manufacturing, culture and traditions of the artisan communities while contributing to their economic empowerment. CC is working to implement their philosophy by developing and strengthening supply chains for these poor artisans and leveraging their business model through Internet in order to give them a global reach.
